Bahauddin Zakariya University is the most popular and one of the largest universities in South Punjab and 2nd largest university in Punjab. It is well-known for its short form titled BZU. It is a public university established in 1975 as Multan University.
Later, it was renamed in honor of Hazrat Baha ud Din Zakariya (R.A) as Bahauddin Zakariya University. It is established in Multan. It has three sub-campuses at Layyah, Lodhran, and Vehari.
The BZU Multan is a local university providing educational facilities in Science and Arts. The university started with eight departments and has now expanded to 78 departments.
